Protect Your Potatoes: Picking the Right Tool Matters

May 22, 2019

Growing high-quality potatoes is challenging work, especially when faced with diseases, such as Rhizoctonia, and pests like psyllids, aphids and Colorado potato beetles. An effective seed treatment can help manage these threats, save time and create potential for increased return on investment.

An active treatment program, starting with clean seed and a good seed treatment is an excellent way to manage Rhizoctonia. Similarly, North Dakota State University notes that Colorado potato beetles are the most common, destructive leaf-eating pests in potatoes, but can be controlled with an effective seed treatment.

The right tool at the right time is key to helping your potato crop achieve its full potential, which is why choosing an effective seed treatment during the growing season is critical. CruiserMaxx® Potato Extreme seed treatment combines the ease of use and consistency of a liquid seed treatment to give you enhanced control over key insects and potato diseases.

Cadd and Coy Crapo, commercial and seed potato farmers from St. Anthony, ID, and Kamren Koompin, potato farmer from Koompin Farms in American Falls, ID, discuss using CruiserMaxx Potato Extreme in this Spud Doctor video.
