Safety should be at the top of your mind at all stages throughout the season. A successful Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program, alongside good stewardship practices, helps to reduce potential pesticide exposure and protect pollinators and other essential wildlife.

Not sure where to start? The label is your go-to resource, as it contains everything an applicator needs to know when using pesticide products. Depending on the product, the label will outline additional safety precautions or personal protective equipment that should be worn when spraying.

Practice standard safety precautions by wearing the following:

  • Goggles
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Non-absorbent gloves
  • Cover any exposed skin

BeSure! to comply with all local and state regulations when using pesticide products and ensure proper employee training prior to application. You should utilize recommended pesticides with proper timing and placement, at the appropriate labeled rate, to mitigate the risk of pest resistance and ensure efficacy. If you have any outstanding questions, contact your local crop advisors, extension agents and state and country departments of agriculture.
