Planting corn late? Don’t change plans just yet

Looking at the forecast this spring, many growers are being reminded just how much they are at the mercy of Mother Nature for corn planting. Excessive rainfall throughout parts of the Midwest is causing many stops and starts, and leading to later planting than originally planned.

While many growers are considering changing their management plans to accommodate a shorter growing season, Syngenta agronomists are recommending that growers wait until the last week of May before changing their hybrid selections. If growers reach that point and are still considering a change, here are some good rules of thumb:
